what's the best workout for YOU?

The Best Workout for YOU Hi ! Did this week fly by for you? I feel like it skipped right from Sunday to Friday! I suppose for most that would be a good thing, but I'm feeling like I didn't get enough done! That's a pretty common feeling in this fast paced world we live in. One of the toughest challenges I experience during the week is making sure I get MY
workouts in. Sounds crazy considering I work in a gym, I have a gym at home, and a large part of my life revolves around fitness. Between being a single mom and kid taxi, housework, business, training my clients, and attempting to have a social life, it can be pretty difficult to squeeze in my workout. For the better part of the last month and a half, I haven't worked out at all! It's not to say I haven't been physical. Fixing up a
house, moving, unpacking, cleaning... it's not exactly sitting on your butt watching Netflix. But it is different. I'm starting to get back to my regular routine, but it's a slow process. I've lost a lot of strength and endurance. And that's totally OK! Because life happens, and when things calm down, you pick back up where you left off and you keep moving forward. So here I am, contemplating what my current fitness goals
are. What is going to be the best training style for me? There are SO many options. Running (not that you'll ever see me doing that), biking, yoga, dance/Zumba/fitness classes, power-lifting, Olympic lifting, metabolic conditioning, HIIT training, martial arts, boxing... the list goes on! Which one is the "best"? Want to know the truth? The best workout is the one that will help
YOU reach YOUR goals and that you will enjoy and be able to maintain! If you don't enjoy your workout it's going to be pretty tough to maintain a regular training routine long term. The goal is to have fitness become a part of your lifestyle. It's not something temporary that you are doing until you reach a goal weight so you feel good for an event. You get all dressed up, you take all the pictures, then the next day you wake up and all bets are
off. You're happy that it's over and are looking forward to relaxing back into your previous lifestyle. Why are fitness routines so difficult to maintain long term? The biggest problem with most workout programs is they are too intense, they aren't personalized for individual goals, injuries, or health conditions, or they aren't the right training style for the individual. Tell me the truth now... how
good are you at sustaining something that you don't enjoy doing, or something that doesn't improve how you're feeling? I know I'm not! Why are you going to drag yourself out of bed every morning, or sacrifice something else on your schedule to make time for an activity that you dread? No one wants to do that! Not for long anyway. You want to ENJOY what you're doing and look forward to it. It should be a high point in your day! The more
you like the activity you're doing, the more likely you are to be consistent. Consistency is the only way you will achieve results, and the only way to maintain results. As a trainer I stress the importance of strength training. The long term benefits of strength training are second to none. Benefits include:
There are many different ways to include strength training into your lifestyle that don't include spending hours in the gym. One of my favorite training methods is metabolic conditioning or METCON workouts. These short
and intense workouts allow you to reap the benefits of strength training as well as a heart pumping conditioning workout in half the time! Whatever workout you choose, know that if you are enjoying it and you are getting the results you want, it's the BEST workout for YOU! If you are struggling to find something you enjoy that is bringing you closer to achieving or maintaining your fitness goals, I can help you build a
personalized workout program! I'm currently taking new online clients! For more information or to apply click HERE! I hope you have a wonderful week!
